planning tools

I love this day. It beats out every holiday. It even beats out my birthday, first dates and other milestones that might happen.

It's the day I begin the process of letting go of what isn't working and opening up to higher possibilities. I feel positively giddy right now at what is about to happen … I can FEEL it in every cell of my body: the letting go, the liberation, the opening up. Expansiveness and freedom and possibilities.

This year I increased my revenue by 50 percent and worked less than I have any year I've been in a business. How? I gave myself a very strong foundation for making choices which allowed me to make radically good decisions. I changed business models. I closed my membership. I started work a secret project (that I'll share with you later). I made the decision to get licensed in someone else's work. And I made huge leaps in my personal life, shedding old beliefs and letting go of a relationship that just wasn't honoring what I want.

I wanted to share my process/tools with you in case you could use some higher possibilities in your life, too:

Step 1:  I work through Susannah Conway's Unravelling the Year. It's a beautiful workbook that guides you through the letting go, identifying intentions and opening up. It's absolutely free and you don't even have to opt in to download it. Just click here.

Step 2: I identify my Core Desired Feelings using Danielle LaPorte's Desire Map. Heck, this process changed my life so much I'm even becoming licensed in it so I can help you through it in upcoming workshops. (You can read more about my experience here.)

Step 3: I start to make big-picture choices and get organized — well as organized as a right-brainer like me would be willing to be. Last week I made the decision to go back to a paper planner. I'm just not as productive since I went digital a few years back.

I did hours of research and finally found the perfect solution. It's called the Day Designer, created by Whitney English. My soul shouted with glee when it arrived in my mailbox. Why? This planner was built especially for creative entrepreneurs. It's so freaking amazing, and it's gorgeous (it comes in a variety of designs). If it's sold out online, contact a retailer and have it shipped. That's what I did.

These are my power tools. If you decide to use them, I'd love to hear how they changed your life, too.

Here's to living intentionally and designing a year that honors your values, your desires and your soul.
